About
Founded in 1856, Kerrville, Texas has long been a retreat from the bustle of city life. Originally founded by Joshua Brown along the banks of the Guadalupe about a half mile upstream from our Cottages, Kerrville quickly grew under the influence of Captain Charles Schreiner’s mohair and retail empire. Through more than 160 years, Kerrville has been a destination for enjoying the best of the Texas Hill Country. Today, Kerrville is a thriving town of 25,000, with amazing outdoor enjoyment possibilities, award-winning culinary options, local events like the Kerrville Folk Festival and Kerrville Festival of the Arts, as well as a vibrant performing and visual art community. You can take in a play, enjoy a winery just minutes away, or take a stroll (or run) on six miles of the Kerrville River Trail, which adjoins our property.
