But, It's also ideal for campers, with an abundance of lakes, rolling hills, and mountains, such as the Great Smokies and The Tellico Mountains. Many people are familiar with the mountains, but fewer know that East Tennessee is home to national cemeteries, battlefields, scenic trails, lakes & rivers! Hiking, biking, birding, boating, fishing, and horseback riding are all popular activities within 30 minutes to 2 hours (or less) drive, depending on what you want to do.
